Architecture Tour Marrakech

Experiencing the grand architecture and design of Marrakech with Hassan was absolutely fantastic. The ‘tour’ felt more like a dialogue than a typical guided tour. Hassan’s knowledge and engaging personality made the journey truly enjoyable. I can confidently say that you’ll see sights and experience things that many tourists miss. He takes you to extraordinary, unexpected places! Simply put, I had a blast choosing this activity with Hassan while I was in Marrakech, and I can’t wait to do other activities when I return.

Hassan made my first visit to Marrakech truly memorable. While getting the background story on all the architecture, we visited traditional artisans, tasted local sweets, explored the Ben Youssef school and discovered the everyday lives of the people. His storytelling is truly unique and memorable and he showed me all the hidden gems of the city with historical references explaining the daily life then and now. I look forward to coming back and explore more with Hassan!

Hassan was fantastic! We learned so much more about Moroccan culture having experienced it with him. His knowledge of the area, it’s history, architecture, art, cooking, crafts –everything — even the tiny details that others would surely have overlooked was not lost on Hassan. Imaginez vous, vous promenant dans la Médina de Marrakech accompagné non pas d’un guide impersonnel mais d’un ami qui saura vous expliquer l’histoire, les détails architecturaux, et la vie dans ces quartiers en toute simplicité et sans tabous et tout cela pendant 4 heures avec toujours la même intensité… C’est ce que j’ai pu vivre avec Assan. C’était vraiment fabuleux !! Je n’aurais pu espérer mieux pour rentrer en contact avec la complexité culturelle du Maroc. Merci beaucoup ce partage et cette balade très riche.
Merci aussi pour le circuit dans la vallée de l’Ourika que vous avez organisé avec la découverte de la vie d’une famille berbère qui nous a ouvert ses porte en toute simplicité et notre guide Rachid, très attachant. I can’t thank Hassan enough , he was a fantastic guide through the Médina with lots of knowlage,we saw things we just wouldn’t have found without him , he organised restaurants and a birthday cake and all done with a big smile. “The magic of Marrakech can only be found behind the doors”. With Hassan, the doors are wide opened and you will be invited in to meet the most fascinating characters in Marrakech. I saw magnificent old doors, mesmerizing chandeliers and objects so special they would be displayed in museums. Even more, Hassan is a friend I never knew I had in Marrakech. He showed me the hospitality and the passion that he has for his city and his people. Don’t make the same mistake that I did; you should make an appointment to see Hassan right when you arrive in Marrakech so that you are well situated mentally. I cannot wait to come back and visit Marrakech with Hassan again.

Marrakech is a feast for those interested in architecture and design. Hassan’s tour is unique insofar as he integrates a historic background to his commentary. As a guide he is an excellent source of reliable information,; he is highly a educated, and enjoyable guide. I think people with general interests would find his tour to be the top of the line.

Having Hassan to guide us through the marvels of Marrakech was a delight! He showed my husband and I wonderful sights we certainly wouldn’t have found or been brave enough to pursue on our own. We would recommend Hassan for his lively positivity, his patience with his clients and his boundless historical and cultural knowledge.

Hassan is incredible and made our trip to several cities in Morocco more special than we could have imagined. We learned so much and enjoyed a variety of amazing experiences. Hassan also has the best taste in food, hotels and shopping. He helped us with absolutely everything that made our time better than we could have hoped. We will cherish our memories and all we learned. We plan to keep in touch with Hassan and would love to book another tour in the future. Highly recommend!

Hassan was super open and welcoming and he knew a ton about history, culture and architecture of the city. During the tour, we were able to enter a few touristic sites faster, and visit some beautiful private Riads, all thanks to his network. Would absolutely recommend him!

We just returned from a magical visit to Marrakech and were so lucky to have met the wonderful Hassan! We worked with Hassan for a full day when we arrived, and we effortlessly covered so many of the important (and hidden) gems of this wonderful city. We loved working with Hassan so much we were thrilled that he was able to accommodate us for a second day! Hassan painted a picture of the tapestry of then culture and history that went well beyond anything you would find in even 100 guide books! We love history and art, and Hassan shared his vast knowledge of these topics to truly tailor the experience for us. We absolutely loved our tour with Hassan – he is so knowledgeable and passionate about Marrakech and took us to some charming places we wouldn’t otherwise have known to visit. Hassan was happy to take breaks whenever we needed and we didn’t feel like we were being rushed at any point. Our small group, with both first-time and returning visitors, had an outstanding art and architecture tour of Marrakech with Hassan.
He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, blending history, religion, and architecture beautifully. We explored famous landmarks with hidden gems and given some fantastic local tips. We all agreed we would love to return to experience more Moroccan adventures with Hassan!

We had a great time with Hassan today. One thing was clear to us immediately upon meeting him, that he is not only very genuine, but also extremely passionate about sharing insights into Morocco that go beyond the standard group tours most go on. To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked the experience, just that it seemed much more interesting than the myriad of generic tours on GetYourGuide, and it definitely was. If you just want to snap pictures for social media and have someone tell you what you could learn on your own from 5 minutes of Googling, than better to just book one of those big group tours. We saw a side of Marrakech that I didn’t realize existed. Definitely recommend this tour for anyone who really wants to dig in to Marrakech from a different perspective. Thank you again Hassan!

Fantastic fun and informative tile workshop. The skill of the artisans was amazing and their patience and support in teaching us led to a rewarding outcome! We felt we learnt so much, including that will never have the skill to become a maãlem in our lifetime.😂

This tour with Hassan was very interesting as he combined his extensive knowledge of Art with his passion for architecture and how this reflects Moroccan culture including contemporary aspects. I gained a lot of new insights from Hassan on Moroccan craft and religion and how it reflects society. The tour was thoughtfully constructed and had a great mix of highlights including modern Concept stores, women’s spaces and products and ended with a glass a royal tea. I would thoroughly recommend this unique experience. Hassan is very friendly and generous with his knowledge.

Hassan is one of those people that there are few of in the world, priceless. Being able to see Marrakech through your eyes is an experience I recommend to everyone. In addition to visiting special places and providing interesting information, he introduces us to the culture through its producers, and there is nothing more valuable than that. This tour with Hassan is a must if you are in Marrakech, especially if you enjoy getting off the beaten track! He is very knowledgeable, passionate and warm. It felt like I was walking with an old friend. I loved learning about the architecture and design and being introduced to hidden gems. This was the highlight of my trip and certainly enriched my experience of Marrakesh.

Hassan embodied warmth, passion, humor and so much intelligence. Spending 3 hours with him exploring some well known and some lesser known places and learning about the history, the architecture, and the people of this beautiful city was truly so a valuable way to spend my first day in Marrakech.
