Marrakesh Art Galleries Tour

The tour was very interesting to understand the meanings of different periods and type of art in Morocco. Thanks Hassan!

The galleries&musseum tour with Hassan is an alternative and original journey about Morrocon recent history through art. Of course, this will be imposible without Hassan’s help to understand what is behing every painting and artist. Never had so much information about modern art and artistic trends before. Even for not modern Art fans (like myself), this tour is extremely recommended and exclusive (we saw no single other tourist).

One of the true highlights during our visit to Marrakesh in February, 2025, was the art gallery tour given by Hassan. As a collector of European contemporary art, his deep knowledge of African art gave us a unique insight into the Moroccan art scene in general and the local galleries in particular.

This was my second tour with Hassan. We spent about 3 hours touring the Moroccan contemporary art scene including private galleries and a stop at a treasure trove of unique antiques. Hassan’s knowledge of the artists and art scene is immense. 3 hours with Hassan feels like a long, enjoyable and interesting conversation with a friend sharing his passion of art and especially Moroccan art and society. Would thoroughly recommend.

There are plenty of ways to spend a day in Marrakech. Most involve being sold something.

Spending a day with Hassan is different.

What I loved about this experience is that it wasn’t really an art tour- it was a cultural tour disguised as an art tour. Through artists, galleries, and conversations, Hassan weaves together the stories that have shaped Morocco over centuries. You begin to understand how Amazigh, Arab, Jewish, Islamic, Andalusian, and European influences have all left their mark on the country and continue to shape the work being made today.

Just as importantly, Hassan’s relationships within the art community are genuine and deeply rooted. Gallery owners welcome him like an old friend, and the conversations and access he provides offer the kind of insight that would normally take years to uncover on your own.

Whether you’re looking to invest in art or simply gain a deeper understanding of Moroccan culture, I can’t recommend the experience highly enough
